Unique and infinitely listenable." - Grand Rapids Press The Flowbs would like you to believe that they are musicians not by choice but by a twisted road of circumstances that began with failed attempts to join the NBA, and eventually landed the three of them together playing music that the Grand Rapids Press has called “unique and infinitely listenable.” The reality is that they are not only born musicians but natural and effortless entertainers – any other story would be selling short their collective talents. Formed in the small town of Hudsonville, Michigan in late 2004 brothers Eric and Luke Boyea, on guitar and bass respectively, joined with drummer Kurt Barber to create a high-energy indie-pop band. The Flowbs released their first studio album, Grazing Like the Elephants, in the fall of 2007. The 12 song album is a fast-paced up-tempo exploration of love and wonder, led by infectious harmonies and sing-along choruses, that linger in the back of your throat begging to be sung over and over. The group quickly won over crowds with their wild stage antics, as well as their tendency to dress in retro basketball uniforms; and at the same time gained by charting as one of the top 10 bands in both their region and state in the Indie and Power-pop genres on MySpace. com.
