PEEPHOLE (Performing: ³Children¹s Show²)- Everything you've been reading about Brooklyn being the base for NY's musical renaissance has been reined in by the newest darlings of indie pop, Peephole. With a shared love for shoulder leans and running in place, this 5-piece have somehow mashed the chaos that comes from intertwining the sound of a 50's B-movie soundtrack, the finale of an 80's teen flick, and the sleaziness of Time Square circa 1970. Did they catch your attention yet? ( www.myspace.com/peephole4eva )
ELBOW (Performing: ³Grounds For Divorce²)- This quintet from Manchester, United Kingdom has been playing ever since they met in college in the early 1990's. BLACK TAXI (Performing: ³Wanted Man²)- Sounding like a Tarantino film in stereo, Black Taxi seduces with the seediness of a pulp fiction novel; a decaying sideshow that's as sexy as it is punk rock. A cavalier concoction of carnival trumpets, swaggering bass lines and smoldering guitar, Black Taxi, like a vintage spaghetti western dressed up in neon lights...the soundtrack to that desert road trip you should have taken back when your girl dumped you and you chanced upon her acid cache. ( www.myspace.com/blacktaximusic )
