THE SPORES (Performing: ³Love My Mind²)- This quartet fronted by Molly 'Spore' McGuire 'spored' onto the scene in early 2005 captivating both music fans and artists alike with their mind-twisting live shows that have been known to include puppets and eccentric electro-pop beats. This audio layered cacophony of sounds known as The Spores have a true sense for electro-pop and do not leave their audience disappointed. VELVET CODE (Performing: ³Slave Luv²)- This NYC trio is fronted by the charismatic Marlon Wurmitzer, with Ryan Kelly on drums and Nick Fiore on synths/keytar. They have highly energetic live show, and have influences including Depeche Mode, The Cure and Queen. Velvet Code has quickly gained a following thanks to street teams, Myspace and being featured on Gossip website PerezHilton.com. JUNO REACTOR (Performing: ³Inca Steppa²)- Fronted by Ben Watkins, this (at times) 14-piece musical extravaganza is known for their cinematic fusion of electronic, orchestral and global sound. Watching them play live is like an attack on all your senses, and a cultural reference to all around the world. Think of the best horror film you've ever seen, and chances are it could be completely re-soundtracked by Juno Reactor. HELOISE AND THE SAVOIR FAIRE (Performing: ³Odyle²)- This disco-glam-funk Brooklyn based outfit is fronted by Heloise Williams (hence the name). With a live performance that ranges from high-energy dance routines to neon-colored spandex, Heloise and the Savoir Faire are a sight for sore eyes in the music scene. With a soulful diva-esque voice and a band that lays down the funk, HATSF bring reminiscent times of days gone past in rock-n-roll. SUPER 8 BIT BROTHERS (Performing: ³Gonna Stay Inside²)- Kevin Gibson and Rob Kleiner (of Chicago band Tub Ring), make up Super 8 Bit Brothers. Their electro rock songs are written based on one thing: video games. Whether it¹s playing games, or experiences dealing with video games, all songs are catchy, funny, and pretty much amazing. They have played all over, including many video game conventions. Their live shows are also highly energized and always entertaining. Super 8 Bit Brothers is definitely a band not to be missed live. DATAROCK (Performing: ³Sex Me Up²)- Originating from Norway is the duo of Datarock: Fredrik Saroea and Ketil Mosnes. They began in 2003 creating electro rock music. | PEEPHOLE (Performing: ³Children¹s Show²)- Everything you've been reading about Brooklyn being the base for NY's musical renaissance has been reined in by the newest darlings of indie pop, Peephole. With a shared love for shoulder leans and running in place, this 5-piece have somehow mashed the chaos that comes from intertwining the sound of a 50's B-movie soundtrack, the finale of an 80's teen flick, and the sleaziness of Time Square circa 1970. | ELBOW (Performing: ³Grounds For Divorce²)- This quintet from Manchester, United Kingdom has been playing ever since they met in college in the early 1990's. They have a unique indie-rock sound, with lyrics inspired by certain political events and the media's behavior in recent years. | IAMX (Performing: ³President²)- IAMX is the solo project of Brit Chris Corner , former singer for the band Sneaker Pimps . The music is very much influenced by 1980¹s electronic and synthpop. Chris is currently in the studio finishing up IAMX¹s new album (slated for a April ¹09 release). | IONIA (Performing: ³Rewind²)- Since their inception in 2006, NYC hard rock band Ionia has gained considerable traction with their devoted fans and extensive national touring.
